Headress P eace Through Harmony and Balance; that was the message of our first Youth Seminar. Held at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, more than 650 attendees enjoyed the event, with plans already being made for several follow-up events.

F our sessions were presented to American Indians from Utah and neighboring states during the day long conference. Topics covered included mental and educational balance, physical balance, emotional balance, and social and relationship balance.

T he Seminar, organized by Kelly Zunie and Gaylene Hatch, attracted media interest, being featured on Fox 13 News and extensively covered in Utah's major newspapers. Two articles written by Deseret News are viewable by clicking on the title: American Indian youths rally in pride and Youth want to boost language skills; both articles are written by Deborah Bulkeley. American Indians lend a voice for a change is the article written by Jennifer W. Sanchez of The Salt Lake Tribune.

W e could not have done this without the help of many in our community. For a list of our sponsors and corporate exhibitors, go to the Sponsors Page.
